When built at the Brush Works in Loughborough during 1965 D1705 was one of a small group of five that were fitted with the Sulzer 12LVA24 engine. The engine was later changed to one of the 12LDA28C units thereby making the locomotive similar to over 500 other class members. The train is the 13:00 griddle car service from Loughborough to Leicester North.
