Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2021 was to be a family day at home but, as a result of missing what turned out to be a main-line disaster on Saturday 28th to do the mowing, I managed to negotiate a couple of hours at the GCR. With a forty-five minute interval timetable that covered the first three departures from Loughborough. It was a shame they didn't run to time and seemed to make no attempt to regain time lost during the turn rounds at Leicester North. Two steam locomotives and one diesel were in use; all true classics and the most numerous of their type in their period.
