With a weather forecast for sunny periods with occasional heavy rain showers on Sunday 8th March 2020 suggested that another visit to the GCR might give some interesting light. I should have gone to the East Lancs Gala but didn't make plans in time. Unfortunately the GCR chose to use the north facing steam locomotive on the main service with the south facing locomotive running the dining train only. What a surprise? The Ivatt uses much less coal and water than the 8F!
