When travelling from Manchester to Chesterfield on Sunday 31st July 2016 we paused to visit The Kirklees Light Railway. The KLR is a most enterprising 15" gauge line offering much for the family visitor. Three locomotives were in steam; the classic 2-4-2, KATIE, an industrial style 0-6-4ST, BADGER. and a 2-cylinder gear driven 0-4-4-0T, OWL. It is well worth a visit.
