"The York Yuletide Express" on Thursday 7th December 2017 was anything but predictable in several respects. At one time the motive power was uncertain with both 60009 and 46233 unavailable. Repairs to No.9 were successful but 46233 was replaced eventually by 46100. On the day itself the train lost 26 minutes between Norwich and Peterborough and then disaster struck!
UK Steam.info records "Heavily delayed outward by line blockage". Steam lost a further hour at Peterborough, was held at Claypole Loop for 30 min to allow service trains to overtake then held at Babworth Loop, where water was taken, for 24 min. It left Babworth 140 min late! Let the pictures tell the story.
