Saturday 28th October 2023 had proved to be very disappointing from the photography point of view and Sunday 29th began with very poor light but with a forecast that promised better condition in the afternoon. True to forecast conditions improved after 11:00 so I headed out to cover the trains from 12:00 onwards. I was a little late leaving home, bought my lunch on the way across and should have been down Rushey Lane in time to see the 12:00 out of Loughborough. I hadn’t allowed for the character in a Range Rover that I had to follow along the lane with all the potholes filled with water from the recent storms. We crawled along and every puddle he went the wrong way but of course no RR would dream of letting a humble Dacia go ahead. I missed the 12:00 up but after that things improved and I had a good afternoon at the lineside.
