I had no confidence when the problem with the DMU would be resolved so I headed off for Lunch. Suitably warmed and refreshed I returned to Woodthorpe in time to see the 14:00 steam departure. I knew the DMU was due back in Loughborough at 14:05 but was taken aback when it approached from Quorn slightly early with steam already out of Loughborough. The blue Metro-Cammell set had been brought into service as a power-twin two-car unit, with DMBS M50203 at the north end leading DMCL E50266 closest to the camera.
