After watching weather forecasts for north-west England for the week leading up to Saturday 7th August 2021 anyone chosing to visit the S & C for recreation had to be certifyable! However I thought there was a possibility that "The Pennine Limited" excursion might be hauled by GALATEA masquerading as SIERRA LEONE. Of course the locomotive turned out to be SCOTS GUARDSMAN; but the weather was no where near as bad as the forecast and I had an enjoyable day photographing trains, dodging heavy showers and avoiding floods.
