A1 pacific 60163 TORNADO is working well up the 1 in 75 gradient of the Shap incline near Scout Green on 5th July 2014. Blue liveried Peppercorn A1s only worked this stretch of the West Coast mainline for a short period in the 1950s while allocated to 66A Polmadie; and then most frequently in the dark. TORNADO with a full rake of blood and custard coaches is the stuff dreams are made of!
