Forecast weather conditions on Saturday 15th December 2018 were very difficult with a strong south-easterly wind and the possibility of freezing rain to make road (and rail) conditions treacherous. The main objective was to see Duchess of Sutherland hauling "The Christmas White Rose" but the prospect of three Great Central departures within 55 minutes was too strong to miss. By the end it was raining hard and very, very cold. Time for home!
