On Saturday 26th August 2023 I decided to visit Gloucestershire and photograph LEANDER working a Railway Touring Company excursion from London to Gloucester and return and combine it with a visit to the GWSR when the main-line tour passengers were visiting the city of Gloucester attractions. I knew from their website that the rostered locomotives were 7820 DINMORE MANOR and 7903 FOREMARKE HALL but I couldn’t remember which directions they were facing. Trust my luck, it was almost time to drive south of Gloucester for the return run on the main-line before I could photograph a locomotive running chimney first on the GWSR. That aspect, combined with some rather heavy rain showers, made this visit to the GWSR one of my least successful. At least I didn’t destroy two expensive tyres in a pot-hole incident on this August Bank Holiday weekend visit like occurred over Easter.
