"The Last Hurrah" was advertised as the final steam gala of 2015 on the Great Central Railway. Last minute changes were necessary for Sunday 22nd November when Gresley N2 0-6-2T 1744 was withdrawn on Saturday evening. The replacement engine was Jinty 0-6-0T 47406 which exchanged places in the running list with Maunsell N15 4-6-0 777 SIR LAMIEL. Great idea but swapping the engine with the largest water capacity with that having the smallest was bound to cause late running when the Jinty frequently replenished its supply.
