The Chester Venturer was an excursion from Birmingham to Chester and return that was promoted by Vintage Trains and took a most unusually circuitous route from Tamworth via Burton, Loughborough, Leicester and Nuneaton before heading out on the West Coast Main-Line to Crewe and Chester. The circuit was repeated on the return trip in the evening. Haulage was by 7029 CLUN CASTLE throughout with support from Standard Type 4 diesel electric D1755 if necessary.
