I suppose, with hindsight, that it was better for the DMU to wait at Loughborough rather than Quorn and then Rothley while the dining passengers enjoyed their lunch on Swithland viaduct and the trip between Rothley and Leicester North. Eventually the delayed 14:00 DMU service from Loughborough had line clear and emerged from under the A6 road bridge. It was formed from DMBS E51427, TRSBL E59575 and DMCL M50321 as usual.
