I arrived at my usual first location by the A6 bridge south of Loughborough at about 11:10 with the advanced starter signal already clear for what I thought would be the 11:15 departure to Leicester North. I was somewhat surprised by the leisurely approach of a locomotive running tender first before l realised it was 78018 on a light engine driver experience run. Chaos was bound to follow!
