Why is it that almost every time I visit the GCR to take some photographs something goes wrong and I end up whinging about it? On Sunday 11th February2023 there was a major signalling issue that could have been very serious indeed had the locomotive and diesel railcar crews not acted responsibly and followed the Rule Book. The details are presented in the captions to the photographs for anyone to follow that wishes to do so. Should I have reported what I had photographed to the Office of Rail and Road? I decided not to do so as The Great Central Railway should report the matter themselves under current Health and Safety legislation. This matter apart, I had an enjoyable few hours watching and photographing the trains. The weather was not too good and the light was rather soft. But I managed to take everything I had planned, including the 16:15 departure from Leicester North.
