Again I visited the GCR on Sunday 8th December 2019. The weather forecast for Loughborough was much better that that for the north-west, but, in truth, the main reason for not making the 435 mile round trip to Carlisle was the complete lack of specific information about motive power. The GCR was a repeat of the previous day; the only exception being the 3-car DMU returning to Loughborough during the afternoon. All that achieved was blocking the down line approach to Loughborough and delaying the Santa service trains.
