"The Cumbrian Mountain Express" ran in its usual format and to the regular recent times on Saturday 12th October 2019. The steam locomotive for this trip was Stanier Princess Royal Class 6201 PRINCESS ELIZABETH. The train ran almost perfectly to time throughout and, most unusually, all my shots were in sunshine. The weather forecast was quite misleading once again; between the sunny periods there was torrential rain and I was extremely fortunate to be driving my car during these spells.

I envy your arrangements with the met office. An interesting set, which brought back happy memories of Keld, where I did many pictures 20 years ago. As you said, now quite overgrown. I liked the wider shots of this engine, which to me, always looks very long. At the last location, the mid distance lighting was very tricky, so waiting for the engine to come through to you was the sensible thing to do.
