Saturday 29th April 2017 was a rare opportunity to see three LNER pacific designs in operation on the same day. Of course timetable constraints made this difficult and uncertainties surrounding the viability of No.9 proved to be well founded as that locomotive did not run. So my choice reduced to TORNADO working "The North Briton" from Doncaster to Newcastle via Carlisle. A wise choice with no overhead electrification paraphernalia in sight!
