Saturday 17th September 2016 was intended to be a main-line day with a Jubilee hauled excursion to Buxton. With no warning, the train turned up top-'n- tailed with a pair of West Coast 47s! The GCR became a late substitute, rescued my day and restored my confidence that not everyone involved in railway preservation is completely bonkers.
