You would be correct to think the GCR 1940s Weekend was an event not to miss but in 2021 I could visit only on Friday 10th September and even then I had to miss some trains. My plan boiled down to seeing all three engines twice, taking double shots when that was feasible. It didn't work out too badly except for a couple of errors for which I must accept full responsibility. The full on event on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th would, I expect, have simply left me with the dilemma of 'where do I go'?
