I regarded Saturday 14th October 2023 as a great success that had enabled me to fill in some more of the accessible locations with the visiting engines. There remained a few more and the weather forecast for Sunday 15th October 2023 was even better than that given for the previous day. So, I set out again with the intention of choosing some slight variations of position that would complete my set of photographs. The sun shone almost all day from a clear blue sky that definitely caused exposure/contrast problems. That is the way things are when the sun is low in the sky early in the morning and later in the afternoon and noon can lead to heavy shadows on the wheels of steam locomotives. I finished my visit one train earlier than intended but essentially by then it was ‘mission accomplished’.
