Having missed the opportunity to see and photograph 4079 PENDENNIS CASTLE when it visited the Severn Valley Railway Gala in April and also on its visit to the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway Gala in mid-May 2023, I was determined to visit the GWSR before it departed after the late May Bank Holiday. I discovered that it was rostered to work with 7903 FOREMARKE HALL from Saturday 27th May 2023 for the remainder of the month. What could be better? Two GWR designed 4-6-0s running on all steam turns. Surely, I could fit in at least two visits.
