"The Cumbrian Mountain Express" on Saturday 23rd June 2018 deviated from the usual format by starting from Milton Keynes. The steam motive was 45699 GALATEA which seemed a little off form after recent excellent performances. Some time was lost through the northern hills followed by a spectacular gain to run over a quarter of an hour early in the final leg between Blackburn and Farington Junction.
