My visit to the GCR on Saturday 22nd October 2022 was of much shorter duration than usual. I had some work to do from home in the morning and, for a while, I could not decide whether to visit the freight vehicle displays in Quorn goods yard or do some normal train photography. It was the weather that helped me make up my mind. Saturday was bright and dry whereas Sunday was expected to be wet and dull for much of the time. I can look at wagons, vans and Test Car 2 from under an umbrella on Sunday but it would be a shame to miss some good light for the normal passenger service. It turned out also the 78018 had been turned to face south and D6535 is one of my preferred diesels although I cannot understand why the NRM will not allow refurbishment and a repaint into a respectable livery.
