Saturday 22nd August 2026 was a normal day on Leicestershire’s Great Central Railway except for the extreme hot, dry weather meaning that all trains were worked by diesel power. It probably explained why I did not move about very much; staying at Rushey Lane overbridge before moving briefly to Woodthorpe Lane.
