My visit to the GCR on Sunday 23rd June 2024 began just before lunch at Wood Lane, Mountsorrel, to photograph the DMU working the 11:30 from Loughborough. I did not have ling to wait before I could hear the sounds associated with reversal at Swithland. As expected, it was the blue Metro-Cammell unit on the branch services and later in the da when I visited some of the other accessible locations where I saw Classes 37 and 45 diesel electrics in operation as well as Standard Class 2 78019. All said, not a bad half-day’s photography.
