Careful observation of this 3-car diesel multiple unit reveals differences between the centre car and the two power cars. The centre car originated as a non-gangwayed trailer as part of TOPS Class117 with doors both sides to each seating bay. It has a longer body and a higher roof line than the Metro-Cammell power cars of what became TOPS Class 101. DMCL E50266 was leading TCL W59506 and DMBS M50203 with the 14:30 from Loughborough to Leicester North on Saturday 27th November 2021.
