Following the previous weekend’s Winter Steam Gala things on the GCR returned to normal on Saturday 5th February 2022. The weekend timetable involves seven passenger trains from Loughborough to Leicester North and return using two steam locomotives and a DMU. There is a dining car express leaving Loughborough at 13:00 as usual and I suspect that DALEX operations will take place in the mornings when there are bookings. I believe that is the reason for the delays to the late morning trains on Saturday 5th February although I did not see them myself and I had no contact with any other observers.
