"The West Somerset Steam Express" on Saturday 19th August 2017 was hauled on the mainline by Gresley A4 pacific 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA. The WSR section should have been worked by an ex-SD 2-8-0 but this was re-arranged to Western C-C diesel hydraulic D1010 WESTERN CAMPAIGNER. Both locomotives made quite an impression!
