Vintage trains promoted a train between Birmingham and Corby that operated as a pair; The Birmingham to Melton Mowbray and return could be booked separately to the Melton to Corby run over Harringworth Viaduct. The train had a locomotive at both ends as facilities to turn were unavailable at either Melton or Corby. The advertised steam locomotive was 7029 CLUN CASTLE but it was 5043 EARL OF MOUNT EDGCUMBE that was a replacement on the day. I intentionally concentrated on the outward journey close to home in Leicestershire and saw the train passing over Burbage Common and approaching East Goscote shortly after it had passed Syston East Junction.
