With the summer timetable for 2018 it is particularly difficult to plan a vist to the GCR when the rostered steam locomotives are facing in opposite directions. One steam locomotive works five round trips and the other works two. On Sunday 2nd September 46521, facing north, made five departures from Loughborough and 78018, facing south, made the two passenger trips. Was it worth it? Well, the weather and light was almost perfect for trains heading south.
