On the 11th November 2018 the Great Central Railway was involved with events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that led to the end of the First World War. The trains ran according to the normal November timetable but the GCR 8K class 2-8-0 was present in Quorn Station Yard and a replica London General motor bus was also in operation.
