Following the previous day's disappointment with the adverse weather forecast leading to my decision to cancel a trip to the mainline followed by the relief that I had missed nothing as the Vintage Trains promoted tour with CLUN CASTLE was cancelled for the second week running. Better weather beckoned for the GCR on Sunday 9th June 2019 and I had an enjoyable, but lonely, day with two 8Fs and a Brush 4. This was the first occasion that I have not seen another photographer at the GC on a weekend running day! I believe this is a sign of things to come following the elimination of line-side permits and it will hit the company hard in financial terms.
