I was so accustomed to this slow running that I messed up my last two photographs on Sunday 26th June 2022. Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 48305 was the engine booked for the 15:30 from Loughborough to Leicester North and, as expected, it crawled under the A6 bridge. I had not noticed that D123 had remained coupled at the back of the train. Suddenly power was applied by the diesel and the train leapt forward and I almost missed the front pony truck wheels.
