New Years Day 2018 was one of mixed fortunes for the railway photographer visiting the Great Central in Leicestershire. The weather forecast turned out to be very inaccurate again. The sunny morning leading to light cloud in the early afternoon but no rain until early evening turned out to be a very dull morning with heavy rain at lunchtime followed by brilliant sunshine for the 13:15 and 14:15 Loughborough departures then dull skies and light rain showers ahead of the 15:15 departure from Loughborough. The 9F is now looking quite traffic stained and the Jinty replaced the 8F that had run on New Years Eve.
