On Saturday 15th August 2020 LSL operated an excursion promoted by Saphos Trains from Wolverhampton to Carlisle and return under the name "The Lakelander". The train was steam hauled by 46100 ROYAL SCOT between Crewe and Carlisle northbound via Shap and returning round the Cumbrian Coast. It was a fine, warm sunny day and the train ran reasonably to time with some departures from the timetable that made it very difficult to follow. Some of the driving was erratic and unsympathetic to observers.
