I could tell this was going to be a problem when the 11:05 railcar was a little late leaving Loughborough. I was watching Fowler Class 3F 0-6-0T 47406 descending past Woodthorpe with a train of unbraked empty mineral wagons and ex-NER petrol-electric autocar 3170 approaching Charnwood water with the local service to Rothley. The camera was securely mounted on a tripod so I just composed the shot as the gap between the two trains closed.
