I paid a short visit to the GCR on Saturday 2nd November 2024. My plan was to photograph the 13:00 and 14:15 departures from Loughborough as they passed Rushey Lane and then the 15:15 and 15:50 Loughborough departures from the old Woodthorpe Lane overbridge. As is so often the case, things did not go according to plan. Traffic delays meant that I missed the diner and had to hang around Rushey Fields waiting for the DMU to return with the 13:35 from Leicester North ahead of the 14:15 from Loughborough. The rest of the visit was according to plan but there was intermittent light drizzle that took the edge off some of the photographs and soaked everything; me included!
