Hastings Diesels Limited promoted a railtour that ran from Hastings to Worcester and return on Saturday 7th May 2022. It provided a rare opportunity to see the 6-car formation that captured the spirit of the diesel electric multiple units that were first introduced in 1957 to provide improved services between Hastings and London. They were built with narrow bodies so that they could run between Tonbridge and Battle on that very severely restricted route. It is this feature that the preserved train set captures effectively but unfortunately the centre pair of vehicles was built with wider bodies.
