Dogs (and people) on the line! And not a single high-vis jacket to be seen. Just before the 15:00 from Loughborough to Leicester North approached the Kinchley Lane area dogs and people were seen crossing back and forth over the railway on the bend close to milepost 96. As Black Five 45305 came round the curve two out of four or five dogs decided to chase the train looking completely out of control. The engine driver must have applied the brake and opened the drain cocks. The surge of water caused the Ross pops to lift which with the open drains caused sufficient noise to stop the most aggressive of the dogs in her tracks. The animals can be seen clearly in the down line cess near the middle of the train.
