The weather forecast for Sunday 27th January 2019 suggested extreme wind that could cause serious disruption to travel. I took a cautious approach and did not reach the railway until almost noon. The wind was certainly strong and the wind-chill effect was quite serious, but the light was reasonable and the trains ran close to time. Interestingly, just before I left the railway, Rushey Lane was blocked by a fallen tree to the west of the line.
