On Saturday 12th April 2025 Railway Touring Company promoted “The Yorkshireman” excursion from London to York and return. Nothing unusual in that you might say; but the London Station was Euston not Kings Cross and the route crossed from Bletchley to Bedford and then Kettering to Syston which was most unusual. Additional complications involved fire-risk issues and the haulage was changed very late to involve steam on the return journey only. I had family matters to complicate things further; so, although I saw the train on both outward and return journeys, I was able to take two photographs only, both on the return run near Ratcliffe on Soar power station.
