One of those backwaters of railway history concerns the exploits of Class 9F 2-10-0 92220 EVENING STAR which on five occasions in the summer of 1960 worked The Red Dragon" and The Capitals United Express" passenger trains over the Cardiff to Paddington route. In memory, the GCR staged a simulated Red Dragon on Sunday 19th April 2015 with 92214 representing the real locomotive.
