I returned to the GCR for the second time during the 1940s event although none of my photographs were illustrative of that event. The trains and locomotives were all home fleet and my locations were public access positions that did not feature the many special displays. Having visited Rushey Lane and Woodthorpe Bridge the previous day I was determined to use alternatives on Sunday 4th June 2023. Since only the steam locomotives were running to Leicester North in the early part of the day and all of them were facing south, I reasoned that Fielding Road foot-crossing would be satisfactory. For the afternoon session I returned to the bridle path bridge that crosses the line between Woodthorpe village and Quorn; I haven’t been there for many years. It was a very enjoyable day that yielded some interesting photographs.
