I was somewhat reluctant to venture out for railway photography on Saturday 11th June 2022 with no hot water, no central heating at home and a dodgy motor can in which I have no faith following the flat battery incident last week. Eventually I decided I could accumulate more data by running the car for about a hundred miles rather than leave it on the drive. The fact that 45596 BAHAMAS was running through Leicestershire and Derbyshire just provided the right opportunity. I had two locations in mind; Hathern which I know well and Slitting Mill which I have never visited. And so it turns out I still haven’t as I opted for a location slightly closer to Barrow Hill which has worked well for me in the past. I understand that Slitting Mill is very popular and it is better to allow plenty of time rather than hope for the best on a chase. All went well, the Jubilee again looked and worked well and even the car behaved.
