The visit of 60103 FLYING SCOTSMAN to the Nene Valley Railway provided the first opportunity to see and photograph the iconic locomotive hauling a proper train for over a year. It wasn’t the main-line rail tour we all wanted to see but it was running through open country with a respectable rake of BR Mk1 coaches. The locomotive was very well presented and seemed to be performing well. The weather was fine and bright all day which showed the locomotive at its very best. It was a bonus to record the visit as my friends Sue and Ray Pickering were passengers on the final run of the day.
