"The Citadel", on Saturday 13th April 2019, was a Manchester to Carlisle and return tour with double headed black five 4-6-0s on the steam hauled stages out to Carlisle via the S & C and returning from Carlisle to Carnforth. The northbound run was close to time but the return should have had one long stop at Eden Valley Junction but this was replaced by several pauses that through all plans out of the window. Typical of recent practice, it makes photography extremely difficult and must be frustrating for passengers.
