Saturday 22nd February 2025 had a better weather forecast than Sunday 23rd for the East Midlands region and The Great Central Railway timetable was more attractive on the Saturday with the railcar running to and from Mountsorrel as well as two steam locomotives on normal passenger duties. It turned out even better with Class 50 diesel electric 50 017 ROYAL OAK working a private charter train throughout the day. It was also the last opportunity for some considerable time to see and photograph 6880 BETTON GRANGE as it’s visit to Loughborough was about to end.
