I was pleased to discover during the days before this visit to the GCR that both steam locomotive guests to the Winter Steam Gala would be working trains on this date. There were some locations that I had not been able to use during the Gala and this provided the opportunity to add new material to my collections. There would inevitably be some repetition but that is unavoidable with so many locations now ‘out of bounds’ to my non-working status. All went well on the day and, in addition to 52322 and 75069 there were a couple of diesel movements to relieve the long intervals between trains. It was also good to have a reasonable longish chat with Clive Hanley in person rather than our usual communications through emails. All round, another good day out.
